Virginia Child Exploitation Investigation Takes Unexpected Turn Upon SWAT Team's Discovery: PD

What started as an investigation into a man having sexually explicit conversations online led to the seizure of an illegal machine gun in Virginia, police said.

Craig Strasbourger, 31, of Vienna, became the center of an investigation following a tip from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children, Fairfax County police said. 

He was believed to have been "engaging in sexual communication" with a child from Kentucky, police said. Through their investigation, detectives determined Strasbourger lived in the 2100 block of Robin Way Court in Vienna. 

A SWAT team searching Strasbourger’s home found four illegal machine guns and various electronic devices from, police said.

Following his arrest, Strasbourger was taken to the Fairfax County Adult Detention and charged with four counts of Unlawful Possession of a Machine Gun. 

He was initially held on a $4,000 secured bond. Detectives are continuing to review electronic evidence recovered from the home with additional charges pending those results.
